Jet Reports and VPN?

:idea: Hi All,

Can we give an external user that is linked to us via a VPN (Based on our regional depart) the possibility to execute Jet Repots (as viewer) from their pc. What could be the necessary config?

  It probably depends on what port you are running your NAV server on. I'm assuming that if you open up the appropriate ports on your firewalls then it would work. However, I'm no networking expert, so someone else could maybe answer your question better. Basically, if you are using NAV 2009 or earlier, then Jet connects to the NAV server using the same mechanism as the NAV C/Side client, so as long as the NAV client can connect, then Jet should be able to connect as well. If you are using NAV 2013, then Jet connects using web services on the NAV SOAP Web Services port so the firewall would have to be configured to allow that.
