Dear All,
I am new to Jet Reports. I understand that it integrate with MS Excel.
I am look at it as a end user reporting tool for SAP v9.0 (MS-SQL). I was wondering if it works with SAP v9.0. The SAP v9.0 is running on MS-SQL.
Please let me know how I can proceed to explore and what it encompass to make this work with SAP v9.0.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hi James,
Jet can certainly be used to report off of Microsoft SQL Server databases. You would set this up as a Universal type data source in Jet. Then you click the Configure button and on the Data Link Properties you choose either SQL Native Client (for newer versions of SQL Server) or Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (for older versions of SQL Server). Then you can type in the server name, your authentication information, and the Database to use (initial catalog in SQL terminology) and test the connection and you're done! Does that make sense? If you have problems, you can always create a ticket with Jet support or contact your Jet salesperson and they should be able to help you in setting it up.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Dear Hugh,
Thank you for the reply. SAP v9.0 runs on MS-SQL 2012. From what you mentioned, it seems like there is no problem connecting the Jet Report to MS-SQL database. Typically the application database is optimized to ensure efficiency in data storage. My concern are:
1. How long it will take to setup / configure the data dictionary that user understand and user.
2. How long will it takes to train the user to use the tool for reporting.
I am considering replace the current tool Vision Q&A Excel with Jet Report. Appreciate your reply.
Is it possible for me to obtain a copy of the software that I can test first. Thanks. -
Jet Reports Historic Posts It sounds like it would be good for you to get in touch with a Jet salesperson. They can demo the software to you and set you up with a trial license for you to try it out. Just contact sales.us@jetreports.com and someone will be happy to assist you.
