Hello.
If you are using the Web connector then switching to the SQL direct connector may help by reducing the time needed to run the report.
If you are running VDI in a RDS scenario then users are likely fighting for resources. If running VDI as Windows Client you may want to allow users who run these reports to call a separate instance of a desktop that is hosted in the same place as the DB. This would allow the users to run the reports in a separate desktop so they don't have to wait and may also reduce the time it takes to run reports if this desktop is one that is hosted in the same place as your database. You could also just publish the app by itself so users can just call the app from the remote server without having to use their local version.
Hope this helps. Please let us know what you end up doing and how the VDI is configured.

Jet Reports Historic Posts Hello All,
I wonder if anyone can help. A large number of our user base are using Jet Essentials 2012 (12.0.12187) with Excel 2007 with a backend Navision server. Also are whole estate is running on VDI workstations.
Anyhow when creating reports / running them etc.. It really destroys excel a large proportion of the time. Often or not it really hinders the users being able to do anything else while these reports are running. Now I've configured excel and removed the "Enable Multi-Threading" option however it's still not great.
Any ideas on how I can improve the performance? -
Jet Reports Historic Posts I have a slightly related issue in that a lot of my reports simply take a long time to run, making it difficult for the users to use them on an ad hoc basis. I've set up a virtual machine which we use to run the jet scheduler. It runs a selection of reports every night (or less frequently if required) and dumps them into a folder that everyone has access to. Each morning people have reports with data accurate as of the day before (which is enough for us).

Jet Reports Historic Posts Thanks for the replies.
Having seperate workstations just for JetReports is out of the question for us due to licensing costs etc…
We have 10+ users who use JetReports all the time so was wondering if we could do anything on the backend so the CPU processing cyles are moved to a dedicated server perhaps.
