We have a number of products on our NAV system that have a letter in brackets which can mean different things to us.
So for example in this specific report I am trying to pull out all the items that have (D) at the end of the description, what do I put in the Description filter on my NL formula?

The filters work the same way as NAV in this case *D will include everything that has anything in front and ends with a D. Other filter in the article below

I think the challenge Matthew is facing is that the item doesn't end with D but rather (D) and you can't use a filter like *D* because the letter D could be anywhere in the filter.
As a quick solution, you could create a filter such as "*?D?" or "<>*?D?" depending on where you are searching for items with or without the (D). This will tell Jet to look at the last three characters. Last character could be anything, second to last has to be D, third to last could be any character, and it could be anything preceding that sequence.

The challenge is that the question marks mean it could be any character so the filter "*?D?" would also return a value like "EARBUDS" because technically it ends in the character-D-character pattern. The good news, is that the description should be case sensitive so if the description is "Earbuds" it would not be returned with the filter since it has a lower case d and the filter specifies upper case D.
Another solution would be to update those items in NAV, perhaps replace the (D) with something else like -D- which you can create a filter of "*-D-".
