Strange problem with NL("Rows")

I've used a similar function hundreds of times but I'm getting a strange problem this time.

=NL("Rows","INTran",InvtID,"PerPost","201601..201712","SiteID","51")

The first row of data is properly giving me the first inventory ID in the INTran table as 'ABC-1'.  The second row is adding test '="ABC-2"' it is adding the = and quotes.  Any idea how to stop this output or formatting?  I'm not sure what causes this.

  ABC-1
  "=ABC-2"
  "=ABC-3"
  "=ABC-4"
  "=ABC-5"

  Hi Richard -

  If you create a brand new workbook, enter this version of your function:

  =NL("Rows","INTran","InvtID","PerPost","201601..201712","SiteID","51")

  and then run...  what happens?

  Same output..

  ABC-1
  "=ABC-2"
  "=ABC-3"
  "=ABC-4"
  "=ABC-5"

  It has never happened to me before that the jet output turns into a function instead of a text string.  I've tried restarting and creating new excel files.  Also, it is not creating a function in the first instance/row, just the 2nd and other rows thereafter.

  Hi Richard -

  I've not seen that except when cells are accidentally formatted as TEXT.  I would suggest submitting a support request so that the Jet team can take a look.
