I have used a similar formula before, but it seems to not be working. When I try to sort the data by Posting Date using either the + or - the returned result is the same. I have tried sorting on multiple different date fields in multiple table with no success. Am I missing something very basic, or has this functionality changed recently in Jet Reports?

Are you being sure to run the report?
As noted in the article about the Difference between Design Mode and Report Mode:
While in Design Mode, Jet function results are optimized for speed and are not guaranteed to accurately reflect the results of all queries. Use Report Mode to ensure you are viewing accurate data.
After I type the functions in Design Mode:
and then run the report:
I get the results I expect.
