We at GWU, are upgrading from Nav/2012 (7.0) Windows client to Nav/2017 Web client. In the past we've had the users have a local excel plug in, and run the jetreports template from the server. How does this change when moving from Windows client to Web Client. Any help will be highly appreciated.

The Jet Excel add-in can work with your NAV database, regardless of which NAV client you are using.
It is recommended that you connect to the NAV database, directly (as this will provide the fastest connection). If needed, you can also connect through NAV Web Services or using the Jet Report Data Service. More info here.
For drilldown, you can also configure you settings to specify how you want to accomplish that:
