Hi Guys,
I'm trying to find out how to get the current users ID in a formula. So when they click report/refresh their USER ID is shown.
I've tried the =NL("First", "Active Session", "USer ID", "My Session", TRUE) however they just returns a #VALUE.
Would be very appreciated if someone has a solution.
The reason for this request is to limit the data returned based on their NAV username.

Hi Lee,
This depends on what database you are running the report against.
With NAV 2009 R2 or earlier this is fairly simple as you can utilize the following function in your report.
=NL("First","Session","User ID","My Session","TRUE")
With NAV 2013-2016 this cannot be easily accomplished with standard Jet Professional formulas.
The Active Session table holds similar information about currently logged in users but you cannot add a filter like "My Session","TRUE" using this table.
You can use VBA to do this, though Jet Reports do not support running macros within Jet Professional reports.
Here is an example of VBA that would accomplish.
Function UserName() As String
UserName = Environ("UserName")
End Function
and call the function from a cell:
=username()
